The 2nd day of the competition was full of events. It’s not even over, but we have already made lots of memories and went through about a 1000 emotions. Firstly, we went to the bus and travelled to the Clinceni airport. During the drive we observed other parts of the UPB. It was beautiful and it sparked our interest for this university. When we arrived to the airport we were amazed. There were parachutists all over the sky. It was so colorful! A lot of smaller airplanes were also present and we could admire their details and design. After we looked around we sat down to a table and had an hour to work on our unit and fold up the parachute, then gave it to the organizers. When the plane took off we were monitoring it’s movement by antenna and binocular. We could see from the data when the unit hit the ground, but we didn’t see it with our own eyes. We thought we would never found our unit. It was the best moment of this competition when we saw our unit in the CanSat groupchat in perfect condition. Our unit’s bottom hit the ground, but it is still in perfect condition. The parachute was hardly tangled so we believe that it opened smoothly and very fast. The shell, parachute and sensors are all in perfect condition so they all worked exactly as we planned it. Today is still not over, tomorrow we will present our data and everything we learnt.
